My Journey in Learning 3 Known Piano Pieces

Yiruma "River Flows In You"

This was the first piece I learned. I had to learn the notes by practicing on my left hand first then on my right hand after learning the notes I had to join them together and play with both my hands. It would get a little frustrating sometimes because I would mess up a lot but I maintained a positive outlook and focused on learning the first few notes.

Ludwig van Beethoven "Für Elise"

Throughout these days I spent around 30 minutes if not more learning the notes for the piece ‘Fur Elise’. I first would learn a part of the song then practice it to make sure I got that part down and then I go to the next part and do the same. This way helped me ensure that I know the parts very well and so that I can learn the keys well. And I found it so much easier to divide the song rather than learn it all at once. I used a video on youtube that helped learn the song, and I did also by slowing the video by making in 1.5 speed this way I can keep up with the video since at normal speed it is just too fast. I have to admit it wasn’t necessarily too hard but I kept messing up the keys and so I would get a little frustrated, but I try to keep a positive outlook and like focus on getting each part first before I move on to anything else.

Johann Sebastian Bach "The Prelude and Fugue in C Major"

Throughout these days I took the time to learn the last song ‘Prelude in C’ it is also considered one of the classics. I found it not too hard to learn it was actually fun learning it and being able to play those keys. Like before I split the song into parts and learning each part every other day or so. I would learn a part then spend the next two days or so practicing that part to ensure that it is engraved in my head and that my hands move smoothly. And when learning I would first learn the keys for my left hand after I know it well enough I learn the part for my right hand after I also know that well enough I learn to play them together. Although in this song when I played with both hands I tend to mess up because I had trouble playing with both hands with the right beat and so it took some time until I could play with both my hands smoothly.
